Starting February 1st. These classes are 6 weeks in length and are from 6:30-7:30pm on Wednesdays.
Cost is $100.00 taxes included per dog.
Class Curriculum:
Focus:
Dogs learn to focus on their handlers/owners despite distractions in the environment.
Recalls:
A good recall is important to any dog and owner relationship. It results in confident offleash walks.
Loose leash walking/heeling:
Having a dog that walks without pulling makes taking your dog places both safe and relaxing for the owner.
Tricks:
This is a student led component that makes basic skills such as sit, down and stay a reality. We also integrate fun and useful tricks to challenge and motivate your dog.

Level 1 and 2 Agility Classes

We are ready to host our next set of Agility Classes! Agility Level 1 and 2 will start on Saturday October 8th.
Level 1 will be from 11-12 am and Level 2 will be from 12am-1pm.
Level 1 Agility introduces dogs and handlers into the sport. If you have an enthusiastic dog who needs an outlet for his or her energetic behaviour, this is the class for you. Just like all our classes at Surf & Turf we start you off "on the right paw" by teaching you the skills to build a working relationship with your dog. Agility is fun! Both you and your dog should develop a closer bond through the sport of agility.
Level 2 will introduce your dogs to obstacle sequencing, course handling and weave poles! We are looking forward to having all of you back to get you ready for next trial season!

Pawsitive Obedience Classes

We are starting our Pawsitive Obedience classes on October 5th. We currently have space left in this class. The classes are 6 weeks long and $100 taxes included. The class will run from 6-7pm on Wednesdays and will be located in Mermaid at Paws on the Beach.

This class is designed for puppies and dogs of all ages and experience levels. This is because the focus of this class is to "build a working relationship" between you and your dog. We will also be covering traditional obedience curriculum such as a reliable sit, down, stay, recall, etc. This class will have a large trick training component because we believe that if you have the skills to teach your dog any number of behaviours you can certainly accomplish basic obedience. We also emphasize that having fun with your dog is the best way to train!
